Fun with Tiles

My mom had a birthday recently and I was hard-pressed to come up with a gift for The Woman Who Has Everything - or at least a gift in my budget. :)  I ended up giving her these tiles.  Ever since then I've been thinking that I need to make some more; the process is totally unpredictable which is the fun of it to me.  Here's what I came up with:

At first I was thinking of calling them Neptune's Forest as they remind me of looking at a kelp forest underwater.  But then I looked again and they could also simply be a fun, whimsical Funky Forest.  What name do you think fits best?

Splash!

Spring is turning my fancy to bright, happy colors.  My latest addition to the shop is some tile coasters adorned with bright splashes of color.  (They are HERE in the shop.)  They make me want to go out and dig in my garden or stroll through some tidepools and peek under rocks to find brilliantly-hued anemones and seaweed.

What do you think of when you see these? 

Creep-erific

Have I mentioned (532 times?) that I love Halloween?  I am definitely in my happy place to be surrounded by crows, spiders (the plastic kind, thank you very much), pumpkins, skeletons and papers in green, brown, black, orange, and purple.  Good times.

I don't recall what inspired me to delve into this latest project.  Something on Pinterest, no doubt. I have never tried stamping on tiles before so dove in with a little trepidation.  I tried several different images with no success until I stumbled upon this skull island stamp.  Wah-lah!  Love this stamp and I'm really pleased with the result
  

 I added this Skull Island Coaster Set to my Etsy shop yesterday.  Love them!

What do you think of the red, drippy rim on that wine glass?  Pretty creeeepy, yes?  Super easy to do.  Mix light corn syrup with some red and blue food coloring - just a smidge of the blue.  Dip the rim in the mixture and set aside for about a minute.  It will seem like it's not going to work but don't be tempted (as I was...several times) to dunk again.  It will start oozing in its own good time.
