SDC 274: Use an Oldie but a Goodie

Greetings, Friends!

The current challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog is to pull out one of your older stamps and use it on a project.  I have several favorite older Stampotique stamps, but it was easy to choose Jasmin for my art journal page; she is always so serene and thoughtful.

The inspiration struck when I spotted a scrap of gelli printed paper sitting on my desk.  I also had the Brolly stamp, wanting to be inked up, sitting in front of me and it occurred to me that they would be perfect together.  When I went on a search for a figure to go with the umbrella Jasmin was a no-brainer.  :)

It's a little chilly here in Seattle for a day at the beach, but this sure makes me think of my happy place.  I'd love to pack a picnic lunch and spend the day at the beach with my family.

Come join the challenge at the blog for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique online store!

Fellow Coffee Addicts Take Note!

I freely admit that I LOVE coffee.  I love the smell of it.  I love the taste of it. I love the camaraderie of getting together with my favorite peeps and chilling at an out of the way coffee cafe.  And, here's the biggie, I have a secret addiction to coffee stamps.  I swear...I collect them.  And then I gleefully run my fingers through my coffee stamp collection and move on to some pressing project without ever inking those bad boys up.

But not today, my friends.  I *accidentally* ordered a new coffee-themed stamp set last week and when I opened the box this morning I actually stamped something with it.  I know.  Big news!  Check this one out - a card AND a gift card holder all in one:

And here's another:

...because honestly, I think it might be true...

I've listed these HERE in my Etsy shop.  If you are, or know, a coffee addict they might be just what you need.

;)

Have a spectacular, and caffeinated, day!

Friday means...Stampotique Word Up Weekend!

Hello, friends!

I'm ready for it to be Friday for sure.  If the weather gurus are right, we'll have a beautiful weekend to play and frolic.  Good thing my Word Up Weekend project for this weekend is all ready to go.  :)

It's a sad truth that I freely admit my caffeine addiction.  I love the smell of coffee and think it's a delightful way to start my day (other than the associated nasty coffee breath - haha!)

Phrase Cube 2 has four fun and snarky comments on it.  This one made me chuckle.

I also thought it combined perfectly with the beautiful Teacup (from the May release!) and an oldie but goodie, Heads  in the background (because if I don't get my coffee in the morning, I'm a smidge zombie-esque).

Check out all of Stampotique's fabulous phrases, words and alphabets HERE at the online store.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a Happy Weekend!

Mail Art Mother's Day

Hmmmm....being the mother of teenagers means I was awake this morning well before anybody else was.  :)  I got a bit inky and whipped out some of my favorite VLVS stamps to create some mail art envelopes for their monthly challenge (and for the mail art swap in the VLVS Groupies facebook group).

This lovely lady reminds me of Phyllis from The Office.  😁  I colored her with watercolor pencils and Copics.  The background is Distress inks.

I'm off to go get pampered by my family now.  Happy Mother's Day to all of my mom friends!

Stampotique's Word Up Weekend: Happy (29th) Birthday!

LOL...I couldn't resist inking up some of Stampotique's newer stamps to make a tongue-in-cheek birthday card.  I love the versatility of Alpha Background (new last month).  It can be used as a background or by masking off letters to make a saying (sky's the limit there).  Here I used it with the brand-new Matilda, too.

I have some friends who appreciate quirky.  I'll have to keep this in my stash until the next birthday comes around.

Cheers!

SDC 273: Let's Hear It For the Boys!

If you've spent any time at all over at the Stampotique store you've surely noticed all of the fab boy stamps.  Really fun, really quirky.  For this round of the bi-weekly challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog we're asking you to channel your inner dude and create a project featuring boys, about boys or with a masculine theme.  My make is one I've been wanting to do for a LONG time.  I altered my plain, ol' black cell phone case.

Oliver is one of my favorite Stampotique guys.  The expression on his face is perfect to depict my relationship with my cell phone.  You see, those who know and love me go a little nuts sometimes because I have a tendency to not answer my phone (hence the use of the Bla Bla Bla stamp too).  I am a firm believer in thinking it's okay to not be connected 24/7.

The background is a gelli print on Tyvek.  I'm thinking it will be nice and sturdy and able to stand up to being jammed in my back pocket.

Check out all of the details for the challenge at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog and then link up your masculine creation for a chance to win $30 to spend at Stampotique's online store.

Rainbow Thank You Card

I have a tendency to collect dies and then never use them.  Ugh.  I have had this rainbow die for a long time but never pull it out.  I've even purchased stamps specifically to do with it - yikes.  I was given lots of wonderful goodies last week for Teacher Appreciation Week and needed to make thank you cards so I grabbed it and got busy.

I love how it turned out.  I hope your day is happy too.  :)

Stampotique's May Release: Sympathy Card

I'm pretty sure that many of you have a difficult time with sympathy cards; I know I do.  Still, it's good to have them on hand for when you inevitably need one.  Here I've used Sympathy Circle from the May release on a CAS card.

Check out more of Stampotique's new release HERE.

Wishing you a wonderful week!

Mail Art Color Challenge

Oh, I love these warm, happy colors!  The inspiration came from the Rubber Dance color challenge for May.  I decided to create some happy mail art.

Here is the color inspiration board too.

Oh...this makes me feel like summer is around the corner.

Have a great day!
