My Kind of Quirky Card

This stamp set cracks me up and the sentiment is just right for me - I love quirky!  I made this card for the MFT Stamps Sketch and Color challenges.

I turned the sketch on its side for my card.  It was tricky to photograph, but the lenses on the glasses are silver foil tape.  My hot tip for the day: I discovered that the star die from the All Star High Top set matches perfectly with the star stamp from Geek is Chic.  Sweet!

Thanks for stopping by to peek today.  Cheers!

Buzzing By to Say Hi Card and Sticker

A beautiful, sunny day in the Pacific NW cried for me to bring out some happy to create a bright and cheerful card.

You can really see in the following picture how my little bee floats off the base of the card.

Blank on the inside, this is a standard A2 sized card which leaves loads of space to write a message.

While I was at it, I created some honeybee stickers, too, for my friend's shop.

My friend, Karin, owns Hunni Co. which sells ultra-delicious, super good-for-you, honey-infused beverages.  At her storefront in Edmonds, WA she also sells all kinds of bee and honey inspired goods.  If you're ever in the area (like waiting for the ferry to go across Puget Sound - her store is right across the street!) run over to her store and take a peek!

Rubber Dance Tag

I was leafing through my scrap stash yesterday and found a grey tag that had some bits of paint on it.  I decided it would be the perfect canvas for the Rubber Dance July Colour Challenge.

I used a few layers of acrylic paints (some through stencils), added some stamping and bits of paper over the tops of those, doodled with pens, charcoal pencil and watercolor crayons and that about finished it off.  I think it will go to live in an art journal soon.  :)

Rubber Dance stamps used:
Vintage Hotel Receipt
Textured Feathers (stars and dots)
Flying Ink Bottle
Artfully Stamped

Mugs & Kisses Card

I'm feeling a little Christmas, or a least winter, in July.  Over at the MFT Stamps challenge blogs they have a sketch and a color challenge.  I've combined the two to make this card.

I decided to move outside the ol' comfort zone and make a shaped card this time.  The trick for me will be to remember I have this card in my stash come hot chocolate season...

Happy July!

You Float My Boat: Lawn Fawnatics Summertime Challenge

Hello, friends!

Today is Independence Day here in the US; Happy 4th to all those celebrating.  May your fireworks be colorful and sparkly.  :)

Today is a beautiful sunny day here in the Pacific NW.  In fact, it would be the perfect day to go for a sail.  (Too bad we don't have a boat. LOL)  Summertime to me is time spent at the beach, playing in the sand and water.  I knew right away which Lawn Fawn set I wanted to pull out for the challenge.

I think I've only made one or two shaker boxes in the bazillion years I've been crafting.  This was fun to make (and I love any excuse to bring out these pretty sequins!).

To play along with the challenge go HERE.

Wishing you a wonderful, fun-filled summer (maybe with a little sailing thrown in?).
