Lawn Fawn Bookmarks

When I saw these I knew I must have them.  So darn cute!  I think it's because not only do you get the front part dangling off the edge of ...whatever, but you also get the back view.  Makes me grin.  I whipped up a couple of quickie bookmarks.

My 16-year-old immediately nabbed the sloth one as he felt it was perfect for his current English reading assignment.  Ha ha!

I've been busy as a ... well, you know.

There have been a bunch of fun little projects on my desk over the last week or so that I haven't had a chance to share.  Since the title of my post is 'Busy as a ..."  let me start with this set of ATCs.  I made these for a "Save the Bees" swap on ATCsForAll.

My next little somethin', somethin' is a postcard made for a gelli print postcard swap.  I have a lot of gelli prints and it was great to go through them to find bits and pieces to make this card.  I cut the strips into 1/4" strips and then glued them onto a cardboard box base cut to 4"x6".  Next I used circle punches to cut more gelli prints and added those on top.

The following ATC was inspired by the art of Heather Brown.  I don't often do hand-drawn stuff, but went for it for this "Great Big Ocean - tropical" themed card.

Okay, last one.  These two ATCs are for a swap that required inspirational messages on both sides of the card as well as gelli printed bases.  I used quotes that moved from the front to the back of the card.

It's been a reasonably creative week, I'd say.  Now I'm off to bake some goodies and tackle that pile of laundry - not nearly as much fun.  ;)

Boho Babes

Vera Lane Studio has some fun images to play around with and occasionally I join the FB group ATC swaps.  The theme this month is 'Bohemian".  Fun, yes?  I created a couple of ATC babes to share.

Wishing you a day full of love and happiness!

Used Baby Wipe ATC???

Ewwww...!  No, it's not really as bad as it sounds.  I used a baby wipe to clean up some paint on my craft mat.  After it dried I cut and ripped and pulled it apart, sewed it onto a background, added a few bits and bobs and called it good.

Talking about using things in my stash and/or supplies I haven't used in a while...
my sewing machine was SO dusty!  Truth is, my husband uses it as storage for his clothes - just throws them on top.  Arghhh... So it's usually just too much of a hassle to unbury it.  He was on a roll the other day and cleaned everything up so I was inspired.

See the little beads?  Wow, those have been in my stash for a good 6 or 7 years at least.  The thread is ancient, too.  Yes, my peeps, I'm keeping myself honest and sticking to the 'use your damn stuff' mantra for 2018!

Feeling Lucky?

I don't remember the last time I made an art tag.  Back in the day I thought they were a great canvas and created on them all the time.  I kind of got stuck figuring out what to do with all of the lovelies once they were completed though (hence the big ol' box full of lovely tags stashed away).  I decided to join a "Green with Envy" tag swap just for the heck o' it though.

My background was made with Distress paints.  Now, those bad boys haven't been pulled out in ages!

I was temporarily stuck until I remembered my solemn vow to start using some of the fab supplies that are gathering dust in my space.  I pulled out my Sizzix Courtyard die, InkaGold, Seth Apter stamps, gold wire, ribbon and lace, Memory Box dies, Lost Coast border stamp...

Seriously, this tag is truly a tribute to using stuff I had to have but haven't used much.  Love that.  The only new thing I used was the chit chat sticker.

Yay for keeping myself honest and adhering to my solemn vows.  Happy March!

I've been slackin'...

Wow.  It's been a few weeks since I've posted.  How did that happen??  I'm still in ATC-making mode.  It is so fun to go to my mailbox these days as most of the time there is happy art mail in amongst the bills.  ;)  Here are a few makes I've sent off over the last couple of weeks...

This was for a hand-drawn mail art swap.  The recipient lives in Alaska and mentioned that she loves all of the wildlife that she sees regularly.  I'm not much of zentangler but went for it anyway.

Funny story.  I signed up for a St. Patrick's Day swap and when it came time to send the card off, I panicked and made this one.  Totally forgot that I actually WAS on the ball and had already made one that I stashed in my 'soon to be re-homed' binder.  Now this will be added to my own collection.

This one is for a postage stamp swap. The embossed bits in the background were done with green embossing powder but it's hard to see in the pic.

Oh, I LOVE this one...kinda hated to send it away.  This was for a spotlight technique card.  Check out this close up to see the shiny bits on the wings and body...yum!

That's it for now.  I've been quiet but busy.  Have a great week!
