Jack & Sally

Greetings!

We had a fabulous Halloween yesterday with pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, funky dinner items - wish I had taken a picture.  Imagine eating "Salt-sprinkled Slug" for dinner.  It was actually a long calzone that had a green-tinged egg wash over it.  The salt-sprinkled bit came from the 'oops' of  some of the filling oozing  out during baking. It looked pretty disgusting but tasted great and definitely added to the Ewww factor.

One of my fave movies is Nightmare Before Christmas.  I recently joined a swap requiring me to HAND-DRAW (WTH???) Jack and Sally.  I don't draw...I stamp and color stuff in.  But I thought it would be good to step outside my comfort zone.  Have to say...I'm pretty happy with this and am going to be hard-pressed to send it on its merry way.  This started out as a white piece of cardstock.

UPDATE:  I thought I was done for the day, but The Muse had other plans.  Here is the whole Jack & Sally set.  I will miss them...

Thanks for stopping by and Happy November!

Nightmare Before Christmas Goodies

Oh, I love this time of year!  Peggy over at SCS is hosting a mega swap which includes categories for Nightmare Before Christmas.  Completely unable to help myself, I signed up for spots in the ATC and Tag categories.  Want to see my gruesome goodies?

Here we have an ATC disguised as a present. The swirly top reminds me of the swirly bits in the movie. In one scene of the movie a little boy opens his gift to find a shrunken head.

My tag sports Jack Skellington himself.  The background is splattered with distress stains and I stamped some bats that reminded me of Jack's collar.  Hand-drawn barbed wire holds the freaky ornaments.

It's hard to tell in the picture but the ornaments have been covered with Diamond Glaze that give some dimension as well as a nice shine.  Love these ornaments from Stampotique and thought they were perfect for the theme.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Labor Day,  Americans!

This is Halloween!

Visions of goblins, bats, and witches dance through my head.  I've had this song stuck in my head for 3 days.  One of my all-time favorite movies (Danny Elfman AND Tim Burton - genius combination!), I have yet to have my first viewing of Nightmare Before Christmas, but watching this was a nice, quick fix.  :)

Etsy shop news:  My Witch's Spell Book and Potions & Elixirs Textbooks have been quite popular and have been selling as quickly as I can make them.

While I keep telling myself that it's time to pack up the Halloween goodies and pull out Christmas I keep finding new things to add to the shop.  "Just one more..." keeps my desk covered in a plethora of orange, green and black stuff.  I added these Witch's Brew tags the other day.

Okay sing along with me!  "This is Halloween!  This is Halloween! Pumpkins scream in the dead of night...."
