Birthday Card for Archer

 Hello!

I just came across this card in my Google Photos...had kind of forgotten about it.  I made it for the little guy I nanny for; his birthday was last week.

I'm still digging into the stash post-100 Day Project.  These dies have been around for a WHILE.

Cheers!

#The100DayProject: Days 81-90

Woo hoo!  10 days to go...I'm feeling accomplished.  The gel plate has been used daily over the past 10 days.  At some point these cards may have some more work done on them, but for now, here they are...

Only 10 days to go...I think I'm going to make it through the whole 100 days this year - woo hoo!

Red ATCs

Monochromatic projects are fun to create.  I like figuring out how to use the variety of papers and media to create a cohesive whole.  Over the last few months I've joined a series of swaps over on SwapBot that are color-oriented.  These ATCs are for the red swap.

"Leaky Hat"

I made this one first, but the further I went along the more dark pink it looked to me.  So I made the next one as an insurance ATC.  😁

"Lady in Red"

I've been 'scoping my stash' for the last 80+ days as part of The 100 Day Project and I like the way it's infiltrating my creative habit.  The stamped image and sentiments were the only things I made especially for these ATCs; everything else was scavenged from my stash and several bits were things that had been sitting there unused for a while.

Media:

  • Gel print scraps
  • Book page scraps
  • Washi tape
  • Distress Stain
  • Copic markers
  • Memento ink
  • Stampotique stamps (Mela, Crown Quote)
  • Used postage stamp (collected by my dad at some point in his younger years)
  • Signo UniBall gel pen
  • Wink of Stella pen
  • Zig Millenium pen
That's a wrap.  Thanks for peeking in!

#The100DayProject2022: Days 71-80

I've been feverishly working on a large painting for a friend's cafe.  She asked for a forest scene and that was why I signed up for Alisa Burke's class a couple of weeks ago.  Many of my cards are a product of her class, but then I felt overloaded with green and foresty things (the 4'x6'painting is done - just needs to be sealed - yay!) and veered away from that theme towards the end of this batch of cards.  May 1st (Day 77) also was the beginning of a new gel printing challenge; I love me some gel printing...

Day 71/100: Bark Pattern.  Used acrylic paints, Pigma Micron pen

Day 72/100:  Doodle Trees.  Used acrylic paints, Pigma Micron pen, Signo UniBall pen, Stabilo PointMax pen

Day 73/100:  Cut it Up (cut up the card from Day 68). Used acrylic paints, Crayola crayon, Stabilo pencil, Signo UniBall pen, Sharpie

Day 74/100: Brushstroke Ferns.  Used a pre-collaged background, acrylic paints, Pitt pen

Day 75/100: Leaf Patterns. Used Sharpie, Signo UniBall, Memory colored pencils, Pitt pen, Copic markers, Tombow ABT marker

Day 76/100: acrylic paint, Stabilo pencil, Sharpie, ballpoint pen, Posca marker, Signo UniBall, Plumchester P4 pen

Day 77/100: I was working on something earlier and some gel prints were sitting on my desk.  Gel print rainbow from scraps!

Day 78/100 and Day 1 of BKGPC = 'Something From the Kitchen'.  Used acrylic paint, gel plate, wax paper

Day 79/100 and Day 2 of BKGPC = Hot Glue Stamps.  Acrylic paint, gel plate, hot glue

Day 80/100.  Not my favorite.  Pre-gel printed background, hot glue, tissue paper, modeling paste, Versamark ink, pearlescent embossing powder, rubber stamp, cardstock, embossing folder, Dylusions spray ink

That's a wrap through Day 80...woo hoo!  Only 20 days to go...

#the100DayProject2022: Days 61-70

It seems that I keep finding classes/workshops to nudge The Muse.  Last weekend I signed up for Alisa Burke's "Woodland Whimsy" class.  Towards the end of this series (and, I'm sure, the beginning of the next series) I was inspired by the wonders of the forest for my 100 Day cards.

Days 61 & 63: inspired by the style of Deb Weiers.  This one took a couple of days.  The initial sketch sat on my desk until I could figure out how I wanted to color it. Used pre-gel printed background, Pitt pen, Sigma micron pen, Stabilo PointMax pen, Color Burst watercolors, Posca marker, Signo UniBall

Day 62: 5-Minute Make.  Used stuff laying on my desk...pre-gel printed background, pencil, butterfly image, produce mesh bag, patterned paper scrap, mark-making print, bleached ticket, Signo UniBall pen

Day 64: Chaotic, inspired by a Roben-Marie post on IG, I marked/painted on some graph paper.  Used: graph paper, acrylic paint, paper scraps, pre-gel printed background, Sharpies, pencil, Stabilo pencil

Day 65. For weeks I kept bypassing this gel-printed background; time to use it.  Color Burst watercolor, Posca pens, NeoColor II crayons

Day 66/100: Floral Fantasy.  Used pre-marked background (has been in my stash for 2+ years), Posca markers, NeoColor II crayon, acrylic ink

Day 67: Before I signed up for Alisa Burke's class, I made this after seeing her promo for it.  Really wish I had put the fronds closer together towards the bottom...Used: Dylusions ink sprays, Lindy's starburst spray, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Pigma Micron pen

Day 68: my first class project...abstract tree branches.  Sharpie, Color Burst watercolors

Day 69: Green Color Study - pulled out greens, blues, yellow, metallic gold, brown Kwik Stix.  Also used Pigma Micron, pen, acrylic paint

Day 70: Brushstroke Forest. Used acrylic paints in greens and browns

Big week for me this week as I've procrastinated as long as possible to paint a mural for a friend.  Yikes...I've never painted anything that large.  Fingers crossed...

SwapBot ATCs

I've been trading ATCs still and here are a few that I've done recently...

Title: Naughty Boy
This guy was made for a 3-Layer swap.  Background: bubble wrap print Focal image: person wearing a dunce cap  Third layer: pun  I have lots of  bubble wrap prints in my stash and this was one I had rediscovered earlier in the day; it seemed perfect for pupils.  I was looking for a different image when I found this guy - perfect for this card!  The washi tape has been in my stash forever.  This may be the first time the apple one has been used.

Title: Yellow

This ATC was for a "Yellow Plus A Little Bit More" swap.  (The 'little bit more' is yellow ephemera included in the envelope.)  Dug out the modeling paste and old washi tape for this one.

Title: Little Bird
This ATC is for a tic-tac-toe swap; my row had 'complementary colors', 'ticket', 'bird'.  Dug into the stash to find the gel printed background and sheet music.  The ribbon on the bottom has been around for ages.

Title: Rainy Day

My partner for this swap is a pluviophile so I hope she likes this.  The swap theme is 'Black & White".  I struggled with this one!  The background started as strips of B&W washi tape but it was too busy.  I painted with black paint around the edge hoping that would help...no.  I stenciled raindrops with modeling paste and iridescent medium all over the background....no.  I painted the whole thing with black...better.  Lastly I added umbrella man with more raindrops stenciled on to him.  Done.

So that's what else I've been up to...😁

Cheers!
