I'm thinking that since Mothers' Day is right around the corner I need a little something to send. I made this card for a couple of challenges: Rubber Dance color challenge and CASual Fridays sketch challenge.
I stamped the flowers in black and then colored them with Copics. After that I die cut the panels out and adhered them to the cardstock base with adhesive foam tape.
I added some Stickles to the middle of the blue flowers on the raised panels. Can you see it in the picture? (Me either...but it's there!).
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

MFT Creative Olympics: Biathlon Challenge
Another card added to the stash! This was a fun challenge. I had to pick a technique from choices in two separate columns. I went with dry embossing and gift card to get this:
MFT products used:
I used one of the dies from Blueprints 26 to dry emboss 'birthday'.
MFT products used:
- Blueprints 26
- Stitched Rectangle STAX
- Gift Card Grooves
- Gift Card Greetings
- Umbrella Stamp Set & Die
This card works for the MFT's birthday challenge too (balloons). Sweet!
MFT Creative Olympics: Freestyle Challenge
Event #2 for the MFT Creative Olympics is a winter-themed card in any style. I realized I don't have a lot of wintery MFT stamps, but I did find one that fit the bill. This little set is pretty cute and the extra bonus...I used an old MFT set - Mermaid (sentiment).
Yep, getting some cards added to the stash and meeting my goal of using old and new products this year. Yay!

Hello Card: MFT Sketch/Color Challenges
I'm going for the two-for-one today. Here is a card I made for MFT's Color and Sketch challenges that are going on right now.
First I stamped the flowers. Then I cut out the squares with the MFT Wonky Stitched Square die. The flower parts on the squares are colored with Copics.
I lifted the colored squares off the base with adhesive foam tape.
My end result is a bit different from the sketch, but it was definitely inspired by it. I started to put a sentiment in the middle but it interfered with the black & white v. colored sections.
And here is the color prompt; I was determined not to do something Valentine-y. :)
Wishing you a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Olympics Slalom Challenge: Just BEEcause card
What a fun idea to have a crafty Olympics challenge while the Olympics are going on (something to do during all of those commercials! LOL). The first challenge is a slalom challenge: use stamps from 3 or more MFT stamp sets. I was a bit daunted by this at first but as I thumbed through my stamp sets I randomly pulled some out and they totally worked together.
The little bees have some Wink of Stella on their wings. I tried to capture the glimmery bits, but it's hard to get them.
Stamp sets used:
- Sweet Succulents
- Fly-By Friends
- Meant to Bee

Love is in the Air: Friggin' Special ATC
Ha ha! Well, that's a bit of a contrast. I made some ATCs for a heart/love themed swap.
This started with a background cut from a gelli print. I layered on some stamping, watercolor crayons, gel pens, and charcoal pencil.
Here is the whole trio:
I'm also entering this in a couple of challenges:
SDC #291: Hearts
CFC #192: Hearts, Hearts & More Hearts
May your heart be full... :)

First ATC of February: Into the Abyss...
Doesn't that sound a little menacing (or exciting or adventurous)? I love the sound of 'into the abyss' (probably because I used to go scuba diving a lot). I made this for a SwapBot ATC swap with a masking tape technique theme.
I had this big ol' green mixed media panel sitting on my desk and cut up part of it for the background. Thinking the masking tape might rip the background I de-stickified it by taping it to my arm a couple of times (art & exfoliation all in one step!). I like that you can still see the background through the blue paint I added over the tape. I sprayed some green shimmery mist over the whole surface, too, but this is hard to pick up with the camera.
The diver is lifted off the background with some foam tape for a little extra somethin', somethin'.
The person I'm sending this to likes steampunk style so I'm hoping this fits the bill.
As luck would have it, this card fits right in with the VLVS monthly inspiration pic, don't you think? (Think 'under the sea'...)
Cheers and have a great weekend!
