The Art Colony

I am an internet wanderer.  I suppose many of us have that guilty pleasure.  In my roamings yesterday I stumbled upon The Art Colony. While I've barely had the time to scratch the surface I really liked what I saw.  There are monthly themes to work with and exploration of different media.  Here's their "about" spiel:

"The Art Colony is a fun online art community for artists of all abilities and interests! Join us and share your art, ask questions, receive tips, and make new friends!"

Sounds good to me!  I played along with their Skyline theme for March using this scrap of watercolor paper that I had previously painted a background on.

The whole mixed media concept has really struck a cord with me lately.  This one has a tinted gesso background, old book pages, distress inks, pen, glitter and ribbon.  I really like the quote about New York by Nigel Goclin as well.

Thanks for popping by.  Cheers!

Dang girl! You are a natural mixed-media artist! I'm way impressed! Your colors are gorgeous, your composition fab. Awesome job.

You mentioned in a comment that you just bought your first alcohol inks. I did a little review of them on The Scrap Review that you might want to check out. They are a great product!
