Purple Cacti Card

In my previous post I mentioned my sometime-difficulties with creative challenges.  I went out on a limb (for me) with this next one which is hosted at Less Is More.  Their goal is the creation of CAS (clean and simple) cards.  I struggle with CAS styles. I lean towards lots of layers and bits of embellishments and the like.  I'm not even sure this card will qualify, but for me it's CAS and it definitely uses the color purple which is the challenge theme. ;)

I pulled out my watercolor paper and stamped the cacti in Archival ink.  I loved the idea of using cool tones with the cactus since typically one associates warm colors with the desert.  The purples and blues are all done with watercolor crayons.  I added a touch of glimmer with purple and blue gel pens too.

Wishing you a peaceful day.

Delighted to see you join our purple CAS challenge at Less is More even if it did take you out of your comfort zone. You've certainly made brilliant use of watercolours to colour your image in lots of purple tones and love you use of die-cut frames too. There's perhaps not quite as much 'white' space as we love in our CAS entries at Less is More but it's definitely a crisp, clean and classy card. Thanks for sharing it in our gallery. x

For someone that isn't comfortable with CAS cards, this is fabulous! Love how you've used the soft scalloped border with your prickly image.
Thanks so much for sharing with us at Less is More, Anita x
